Sure of Your Salvation

The most important question in your life, "If you were to die tonight,do you know where you would spend eternity? This is the business of this age. Everyone will die and go into eternity, the question is where? Other religions hope that they go to heaven if their good works out weigh their bad works. Even some Christians have no confidence in where they will spend eternity.
“He that believeth on the Son of God hath the witness in himself: he that believeth not God hath made him a liar; because he believeth not the record that God gave of his Son. And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life. These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God." 1 John 5:10-13 KJV
“But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.
The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:”
Romans 8:9, 16 KJV
So if we have received Jesus as Savior and confessed Him as Lord and are born again we have the witness of the Spirit of God within us telling us that we are truly in Christ and we will go to heaven when we die. More than that we then have a bold access before the Father as a beloved son. The more time that we spend in the Fathers presence, getting to know Him, the less we fear death. The fear of death holds people in bondage. When you are sure of your salvation then the fear of death no longer has a hold on you. When you have the witness of the Spirit you can walk in peace. Our salvation is totally based on what Jesus did, not on what we do. Our good works come out of our salvation and our knowledge of that work. Our salvation is not an outcome of our good works.
