Know God

Devotions:

“Thus saith the Lord, Let not the wise man glory in his wisdom, neither let the mighty man glory in his might, let not the rich man glory in his riches: But let him that glorieth glory in this, that he understandeth and knoweth me, that I am the Lord which exercise lovingkindness, judgment, and righteousness, in the earth: for in these things I delight, saith the Lord.”

‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭9:23-24‬ ‭KJV‬‬

The Israelites had a limited righteousness, that is God marked righteousness to their account but they were not made the righteousness of God as we are. Their fellowship with God was limited because their sins had not been removed, only covered. Our sins were totally removed in Jesus. Yet God said that His purpose with them was that they know Him in His lovingkindness, justice and righteousness. How much more we who have unlimited righteousness should not be about fulfilling rules and rituals but seeking to know God and His ways. Our wisdom, strength and prosperity are fruits from knowing God, they are not the end of our pursuits. Seek to know God, His love, justice and righteousness.
