Led by The Spirit

Devotions:

In the New Testament we do not live by the law but by the Spirit.  The Holy Spirit wil not contridict the Law but the Law has no power within it to help us obey.  It is only a measuring rod to show us how far we are from God's perfection.  God gave the law to show us that we do not measure up to what God requires and that we need a savior.  God sent us a Savior, Jesus Christ.

So it is essential for us to know the leading of the Spirit who dwells within us.  It is He who will guide us unto all truth.  When we were born again, a radical change occurred within us.  We, the old man of sin, died with Jesus at the cross and we were given a new nature.  We are no longer our own.  Paul says that we no longer live but Christ lives within us.

“For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life.” ‭Romans‬ ‭5:10‬ ‭KJV‬‬

We are forgiven because Jesus died for us and thus reconciled to God but we are saved by His life within us.  His life is holy, righteous and good.  So we are holy, righteous and good. This life does not change according to whether we sin. It remains constant.  So we stay righteous all the time.  We may not feel righteous but nevertheless we are.  So we constantly have access to the Father and coming into His presence is what transforms our souls,  So walking by the Spirit is our way to victory that the snares of the devil cannot overcome us.  When we walk in our own way we are blind as to why we are constantly getting hurt by people and circumstances.  Choose God's way.

“For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God. For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father. The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:” ‭Romans‬ ‭8:14-16‬ ‭KJV‬‬
