Weapons For The Battle

September 21, 2017

Devotions:

“For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh: (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;) Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;”

‭‭2 Corinthians‬ ‭10:3-5‬ ‭KJV‬‬

When a battle comes upon us we usually try to fight it in the flesh.  As we sense that we are losing we try harder to win by consecrating ourselves  to be more diligent, by striving harder, by trying to be more determined, all works of the flesh which are to no avail.

We must know the weapons of our warfare.  We have the name of Jesus at which every knee shall bow but if we have no confidence in His name or our ability or right to use His name then we will not be effective in using it.  We must know our righteousness, else we come under a cloud of condemnation and shrink at the enemies accusations.  Our righteouness is not determined by our ability or actions but solely on what Christ did.  We are in Christ who is our righteousness, ability to stand before the Father with out any sin or failure.

One other weapon is the word of God which is the sword of the Spirit.  Jesus used this weapon when Satan tempted Him in the wilderness.  We must know the word of God and be confident of its truthfulness.  Satan cannot stand against the word of God but he will test you to see if you really believe what God has said is true.

These weapons will never fail if we will use them.
