Devotions:

        “He that chastiseth the heathen, shall not he correct? he that teacheth man knowledge, shall not he know? The Lord knoweth the thoughts of man, that they are vanity. Blessed is the man whom thou chastenest, O Lord, and teachest him out of thy law; That thou mayest give him rest from the days of adversity, until the pit be digged for the wicked.”

        God is not into punishing His children but in training them in the ways of righteousness and holiness.  He will correct us using His word so we can walk in His wisdom.  If we will not listen to the Lord's correction then He will back off and let us reap the fruit of our actions, which we will not like.  This means that we must spend time in His word to allow the Holy Spirit to use the word of God to teach us in the right way to go. 

        Paul says that as many that are led by the Spirit are son s of God.  It is the Spirit and the word working together that matures us into sonship.  We need to ask God to give us a tender heart that will quickly obey His leading.  The ways of man will lead to destruction. We need God to. Guide us and train us in the way we should God and it is the Father's good pleasure to train us or disciple us in His ways of the kingdom.  He created the universe to operate by His laws, the law of love.  The enemy stole the kingdom, the earth, from its steward, Adam, and imposed his rules upon it as much as he could.  But God's rules still work. Let God train you in the ways of God's success. Be a frequent reader of His operation manual and a frequent visitor with the one who wrote it, the Holy Spirit.
