Giants or Bread?

Devotions:

“And there we saw the giants, the sons of Anak, which come of the giants: and we were in our own sight as grasshoppers, and so we were in their sight.” ‭‭Numbers‬ ‭13:33‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“And they spake unto all the company of the children of Israel, saying, The land, which we passed through to search it, is an exceeding good land. If the Lord delight in us, then he will bring us into this land, and give it us; a land which floweth with milk and honey. Only rebel not ye against the Lord, neither fear ye the people of the land; for they are bread for us: their defence is departed from them, and the Lord is with us: fear them not.” ‭‭Numbers‬ ‭14:7-9‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Here are two different views of the same land at the same time. The first is from ten of the twelve spies that spied out the land of Caanan and the other one is of the. Other two spies, Joshua and Caleb.  The group of ten were looking to themselves to carry out the promise of God to give them the land, Joshua and Caleb were looking to the Lord.  Both were true reports. One led to defeat and the other eventually, 40 years later led to victory and conquest of the land.  God's desire was for them to enter the land the first time the spies went in and spied out the land.  Because of their unbelief which was cultivated through their griping, grumbling and complaining all the time.  They never were thankful of what the Lord provided and never believed in His great love for them and His desire to provide for them and bless them.

What view do you have of your situation? Do you see giants or bread? Are your eyes on your ability to succeed or on God's blessing upon you to do His will. His will is to give you the promised land of blessing and abundance. He has blessed you so that you can be a blessing to those around you.
