Our Tongue, Our Rudder

Devotions:

Our trek in this life is to be a trek of praise, not a path of griping, complaining and criticizing.  We can only tame our tongue by the power of the Holy Spirit.  It is our tongue that creates the path of our lives, positive or negative.  Negative situations will come our way no matter what we say but our speaking will determine the outcome of the circumstances.  As we continue to stand in faith and speak what we believe we will see it come to pass.  Our faith that can move mountains is released by the words that we say..  This can work in the positive and in the negative.  What we believe, positive based on God's word or negative as led by the enemy, will come to pass as we believe it and speak it.  When we are aware of this then we can responsibly choose to speak positive good things with the expectation that it will come to pass and it will. Praise is the highest release of our faith.  We do not praise to get but because we believe that we received what we have asked for.  This confidence can only come from being established in His word in our hearts.

“For in many things we offend all. If any man offend not in word, the same is a perfect man, and able also to bridle the whole body. Behold, we put bits in the horses' mouths, that they may obey us; and we turn about their whole body. Behold also the ships, which though they be so great, and are driven of fierce winds, yet are they turned about with a very small helm, whithersoever the governor listeth. Even so the tongue is a little member, and boasteth great things. Behold, how great a matter a little fire kindleth! And the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity: so is the tongue among our members, that it defileth the whole body, and setteth on fire the course of nature; and it is set on fire of hell.” ‭James‬ ‭3:2-6‬ ‭KJV‬‬
