Devotions:
“I delight to do Your will, O my God; yes, Your law is within my heart. [Heb. 10:5-9.]”
Psalm 40:8 AMPC
“Then I said, Behold, here I am, coming to do Your will, O God–[to fulfill] what is written of Me in the volume of the Book. [Ps. 40:6-8." Hebrews 10:7 AMPC
“For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, says the Lord: I will imprint My laws upon their minds, even upon their innermost thoughts and understanding, and engrave them upon their hearts; and I will be their God, and they shall be My people.” Hebrews 8:10 AMPC
Man was created to do the will oft he Father. Jesus illustrated this when He said that His will was to do the will of the Father.
“I can of mine own self do nothing: as I hear, I judge: and my judgment is just; because I seek not mine own will, but the will of the Father which hath sent me.” John 5:30 KJV
Even though He was God He acted like 100% man. He was totally yielded to the Father. When we are not totally yielded to the Father then we have other gods before the Lord God. Some want to focus on our moral infractions which are called sin but God took care of on the cross of Jesus. The main issue is serving God with all our hearts. As we do this the moral infractions will drop off of us and be replaced by our knowing our Father's love for us. Repentence is turning from our efforts to save ourselves to the salvation which is in Jesus' finished work only. You can try to put away sin, and not be successful, and still not be totally yielded to God. The only purpose for our presence on earth is to the will of the Father. This comes from the revelation of the love of God for us as demonstrated by Jesus willingly, without our asking, going to the cross to bear our sins and die under the full penalty of those sins so that we would be one with our Father. You cannot do this in your own strength but by the power of the Holy Spirit.
“But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.”
Romans 8:11 KJV
