Devotions:
In Jesus Christ, God has set us free from the yoke of sin but the enemy keeps lying to us that we are still in bondage and can never be set free. Our freedom comes by believing the truth, which takes faith as we go contrary to our past experience, our circumstance and our feelings. When we walk by our feelings, Satan drags us by the nose whereever he wants us to go. He holds in bondage because we are focused on the sin and our feelings that have given into the sin. We want a feel good, bless me all the time, comfort zone existence. But sometimes acting in faith on the word of God is very unpleasant, it was for Jesus when He went to the Corss. It was for Paul when he went to evangelize the heathen Gentiles. Of course it is not always a rough time and learning to stand on the word has a learning curve to it. the more you stand on God's word in tough times the more confident you become about the love of God towards you because you see His word become reality in your life. Your learn to not walk by your emotions but by the word of God. Emotions have their place but not to guide us. We are not even to walk by our rational thinking but by the Spirit of God. When we get the revelation of the word that we have been set free, then we will live free. This revelation comes by acting as much as you can that the word is real and truth and then look to God to fill in the gap. This applies not only to sin but sickness and disease, poverty and everything from the kingdom of darkness.
“Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. They answered him, We be Abraham's seed, and were never in bondage to any man: how sayest thou, Ye shall be made free? Jesus answered them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whosoever committeth sin is the servant of sin. And the servant abideth not in the house for ever: but the Son abideth ever. If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.”
