Drink From The Waters Daily

 February 20, 2018

Devotions:

Ezekiel 47 talks about the river of God flowing from beneath the throne of God.  The river brings life everywhere it goes.  There are trees planted all along the river that bear fruit in its season and the leaves are for healing of the nations.

We find the same picture in Revelations 22.  The river is the ourpouring of the Holy Spirit which happened on the day of Pentecost.  This is the outpouring of God's mercy and blessing on the whole human race drawing them to accept the free gift of salvation.  But many will not accept the gift because their deeds are evil and they do not want to come to the light.

The offer is not just for the initial part of salvation, the new birth but for our continual walk with God.  Along with the outpouring of the Spirit came the gift of tongues where we can supernaturally talk with God without our limited rational thinking interfering. We continually drink of the river of His delights, His blessings but spending time daily praying in the supernatural gift of tongues.  As we pray in tongues we speak as the Holy Spirit gives us the utterance. So we are working with God by speaking in tongues.  Drinking of the waters of life is partaking of God's grace and mercies.  One way we do this is by praying God's perfect will for our lives by praying in tongues and praying the interpretation as He wills.

““Everyone who thirsts, come to the waters; And you who have no money come, buy grain and eat. Come, buy wine and milk Without money and without cost [simply accept it as a gift from God]. “Why do you spend money for that which is not bread, And your earnings for what does not satisfy? Listen carefully to Me, and eat what is good, And let your soul delight in abundance.”
