Knowing Jesus: Worship
Devotions:
Worship is acknowledging value and God our creator is the only one worthy of worship. Satan desires and craves worship but he is only a created being like us so he is limited. Humans crave to be worshipped but even great men and women, good or bad fall short of value in themselves. They are limited, created beings who have fallen short of the glory of the creator. Only the Almighty, all knowing, ever wise God who alone dwells in unapproachable light, who is perfect in all of His ways, who is only good, only He is worthy of our worship.
As we praise Him for who He is and what He has done, Creator, Redeemer, Savior, and give thanks unto His name, He comes and inhabit our praises and His presence brings a revelation of who He is and our response to the revelation of the reality of God is true worship in spirit and truth. Job had a reverence for God but it was not until he had a revelation of God that he could offer up a true worship. Job worshipped according to what of God that he knew. But he had a limited revelation until he had an encounter with God.
In Christ Jesus we have been give His righteousness that we might know God in truth. As we praise Him with our limited understanding He increases our knowing Him. This is what Christianity is all about. The more we know Him, the more He conforms us to His image and the more we worship Him in spirit and in truth.
“And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.” John 17:3 KJV
“But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him. God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth." John 4:23-24 KJV
