The Enemy Defeated!

Devotions:

Christianity is a life and death deal. It is about our being dead in Christ that His life might be manifest through us.  If we live by our souls and flesh we will be defeated. We are no match for the devil if we are in the flesh. Satan tries continually to get us to act in the flesh, in fear, in giving into the desires of the flesh. If we operate from the spirit we already have the victory over Satan. Jesus defeated him on the cross. That victory is ours because  we are in Christ and He    Is in us. His victory is our victory. We have to enforce that victory because the enemy will try to deceive us. He tries to convince us that he still has the upper hand. The weapons that Jesus removed from Satan was our sin that he held against us as he accused before the Father. God is just and had to demonstrate justice by passing judgement unless an intercessor pleaded for mercy. Jesus paid the full price for our sin so there is nothing against us. Satan can not accuse us before the Father. In the Father’s eyes we have no sin.

“And you who were dead in trespasses and in the uncircumcision of your flesh (your sensuality, your sinful carnal nature), [God] brought to life together with [Christ], having [freely] forgiven us all our transgressions, Having cancelled and blotted out and wiped away the handwriting of the note (bond) with its legal decrees and demands which was in force and stood against us (hostile to us). This [note with its regulations, decrees, and demands] He set aside and cleared completely out of our way by nailing it to [His] cross. [God] disarmed the principalities and powers that were ranged against us and made a bold display and public example of them, in triumphing over them in Him and in it [the cross].”
