Cover UP or Transformation?

Devotions:
Is your Christianity just a thin religious veneer just superficially covering up your pains, your brokenness, your devastation? Or are you being healed and transformed by the presence of God and God’s word?
“I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.” Romans 12:1-2 KJV
We cannot transform ourselves but as we believe the word of God, the word has the power within it to transform us if we will receive it, honor it and believe it.
It is when we just barely skim the surface of the word of God that we do not receive transformation. When we just attend church to be religious that we put a bandaid on our deep wounds that the enemy has inflicted through other people and our circumstances. No matter what injury we have suffered nor in which circumstance that we find ourselves, the power of God is available to lift ourselves out of the clutches of the enemy and set us free. God has already done everything that is necessary to liberate us, we just need to believe what He has done and receive it.
This comes from hearing the word of God concerning where we are in bondage until we believe the freedom that God has provided for us. We meditate on the promise until we can see ourselves with the promise fulfilled in our lives.
