To Be With Him

Devotions:
“Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were unlearned and ignorant men, they marvelled; and they took knowledge of them, that they had been with Jesus.” Acts 4:13 KJV
“And he ordained twelve, that they should be with him, and that he might send them forth to preach,” Mark 3:14 KJV
Every one in the body of Christ has a calling has a ministry, to proclaim the gospel of the kingdom of God. This is not optional. We were baptized in the Holy Spirit as an anointing to carry out our mission. God has people in all walks of life and all of us have the same mission but from different venues and different vantage points. We tend to focus on the natural calling that we have embraced, doctor, lawyer, engineer, etc. but our spiritual calling is much greater than any natural calling. Our spiritual calling is eternal while our natural calling is temporal, that it is over when we die if not before.
In order to do this we must first spend time with God to drink deeply of the well of His love for us. It is only when we regularly get our supply of love from Him that we are equipped to demonstrate that love to a world that lies in the grips of the evil one. We are to daily come into God’s presence, the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit to fellowship with them and to behold them. It is in beholding them that we are transformed by their love. The message that we have for the world is that God loves them and that He has provided a way for them to be reconciled to Him and made whole through the sacrifice of Jesus. As we are transformed by the love of God by spending time in His presence we become the agents of transformation as we carry that love to all that we meet and as we proclaim His great love.
“And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation; to wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.> 2 Corinthians 5:18-19 KJV
