The Word Became Flesh

February 28, 2022

Devotions:

“And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.”  ‭John‬ ‭1:14‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Here Jesus is see as the only begotten of the Father. At His resurrection Jesus because the first begotten from the dead. Being the only begotten of God meant that He was the only one.  When Jesus became the first begotten means that there are second, third and fourth etc. Anyone then can be begotten of God who will receive Jesus.

Jesus was the Word become flesh. Then as begotten of God we also are to become the word become flesh. We do this by feeding on the Word of God and acting on the word  of God. When we becoming the living word through our life we demonstrate the glory of God.

“My mouth shall speak of wisdom; And the meditation of my heart shall be of understanding. I will incline mine ear to a parable: I will open my dark saying upon the harp.” ‭Psalm‬ ‭49:3-4‬ ‭KJV‬‬

The word becomes fresh as we first meditate on it until we have the revelation of what it means. Then we can act on it. Meditation includes reading the verse or verses over and over, thinking about them and imagining what you would look like and do because they are true. This takes a period of time of repetition until it is ingrained in our heart. Then we act on what is in our heart. For example meditate on Mark 16:18 about laying hands on the sick, visualize yourself doing it and then practice it. Come back to Mark and meditate on it some more until you see what it says happen. Then build your faith by continuing to meditate on it and acting on it.

God’s word is truth and it will do all that it is sent to do. You will see the reality according to your faith.
