The Power of The Word of God

Devotions:

          “so shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it. For ye shall go out with joy, and be led forth with peace: the mountains and the hills shall break forth before you into singing, and all the trees of the field shall clap their hands. Instead of the thorn shall come up the fir tree, and instead of the brier shall come up the myrtle tree: and it shall be to the LORD for a name, for an everlasting sign that shall not be cut off.” ‭Isaiah‬ ‭55:11-13‬ ‭KJV‬‬

          God assures us that His word will accomplish what it is sent to do. If the word of God speaks of healing, it will heal or prosperity, it will bring prosperity. As we stand on God’s word in faith it will produce all that God said it will produce. What is the outcome? The latter part of the verse quoted here talks about the results of believing the word of God. It talks of the earth rejoicing at the revelation of the Sons of God and the curse being reversed. This does not just happen but it takes a believer believing the word of God and acting on it in expectation of the outcome. God cannot lie so His word must be always true but there must be someone who will unequivocally believe it and act on it. When you do this in your life you will see the blessings come into your life and overtake you.  When the curse tries to come your way you take the two edged sword, the word of God in your mouth, and defeat the curse.  God’s word describes the kingdom of God and that is where we are to live.
