You Are Holy

Devotions:
“And when the LORD saw that he turned aside to see, God called unto him out of the midst of the bush, and said, Moses, Moses. And he said, Here am I. And he said, Draw not nigh hither: put off thy shoes from off thy feet, for the place whereon thou standest is holy ground.” Exodus 3:4-5 KJV
If the ground that Moses was standing on was Holy because of the presence of God, then how much more are our bodies Holy because of the indwelling presence of God. If God asked Moses to honor His presence by removing his sandals, how much more should we seek to honor God in everything in our lives because God’s presence never leaves us. The more that we honor God the more He honors us. The more we honor God the more we see Him active in our lives. God met Moses temporarily in one physical location but we have God all the time with us, living within us. The ground around us is holy only because we are holy by the presence of God within us. Treating God as God we long to hear His voice and obey it. We the creature have the privilege of bearing the presence of our Maker with us everywhere we go. If we go into places that are unclean physically or morally, God goes with us. When we look at something unclean, unholy, God is right there with us.
The more that we pray especially in the Spirit the more we are aware of God’s presence with us and in us. We are holy because of what God has done. He will not dwell in an unholy vessel. Our spirit does not change when we do something wrong or God would leave us or we would drop dead at His presence within us. We may defile our flesh which then comes into conflict with our spirit. Then we turn to the Lord and His word to be cleansed from that defilement but our spirit does not lose it’s holiness nor the presence of God. God said, be ye holy because I am Holy.
