Rest In God

April 8, 2022

Devotions:

         We are

the people of God, we are the body of Christ. Our life is Christ‘s resurrection life within us, the life of God. We are totally His workmanship created unto good works. We cannot add to our salvation nor can we take away from our salvation. In the heart of God our salvation is complete just as Jesus crucification was a finished work before the foundation of the world. Our response is to praise God and thank Him for His salvation for us.

“For we which have believed do enter into rest, as he said, As I have sworn in my wrath, If they shall enter into my rest: although the works were finished from the foundation of the world. For he spake in a certain place of the seventh day on this wise, And God did rest the seventh day from all his works. And in this place again, If they shall enter into my rest.”

‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭4:3-5‬ ‭KJV‬‬

God’s rest that He invites us to enter is the rest of a completed work, not to leave us in our sin and degradation but to deliver us from everything that is foreign to Him. God is love and God’s intention is for us to become fully a love creation, created in love to walk in love. In rest we do not worry about doing something to offend God and lose our salvation. If we offend God we need to turn from what we did and look to His work within us. The more that we focus on the finished work of the cross, the less we will do something that is contrary to God.
