God’s Arms Are Open

Devotions:
Adam chose to be independent of God when he disobeyed and ate of the forbidden fruit. He chose not only for himself but for the human race, all of his descendants because we were all in the loins of Adam when he sinned. But God promised redemption for all of those who would believe Him. From the very beginning, at the time of the fall of Adam, God promised a Savior that would defeat the enemy who had seduced Adam and Eve.
“And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.” Revelation 13:8 KJV
Hell is the absence of God’s presence and goodness not because God’s presence and goodness is not there but because people have rejected God and His goodness. They seal themselves in their unrighteousness so God’s goodness, instead of being healing, health, prosperity and joy, is torment to them because their deeds are evil. And they love the evil and darkness more than the light. In that darkness they refuse to turn to God and call out to Him.
“He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved. But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.”
John 3:18-21 KJV
“who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power;” 2 Thessalonians 1:9 KJV
God is the only source of good in the universe and those who turn from Him turn to the curse. God welcomes with open arms those who will turn to Him and receive His gift of mercy and grace.
