Worship With A Pure Heart

Devotions:
““This is how I want you to conduct yourself in these matters. If you enter your place of worship and, about to make an offering, you suddenly remember a grudge a friend has against you, abandon your offering, leave immediately, go to this friend and make things right. Then and only then, come back and work things out with God.” Matthew 5:23-24 MSG
“Therefore if thou bring thy gift to the altar, and there rememberest that thy brother hath ought against thee; leave there thy gift before the altar, and go thy way; first be reconciled to thy brother, and then come and offer thy gift.” Matthew 5:23-24 KJV
You cannot truly worship God if you have offense in your heart or you have done something that has caused offense with someone. God is love and to truly worship Him you must be walking the love walk. Anger and offenses given or received will bind up your heart and make you ineffective in your worship. As you worship you will enter into the presence of God who is love and your lack of love will stick out to you like a soar thumb. The thing to do is to make everything right as much as you can.
Jesus is telling us here to remember how offensive we were to God but God has forgiven us and reconciled us back to Him. When we believe this then we want to walk in peace with those around us and not take offense or do anything that would offend others. We have God’s love nature within us and He has demonstrated His love to us in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. To walk in victory, we must walk in love with everyone.
