Satisfied In God

Jesus.  June 20, 202

Devotions:

       “And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power:”

We need to make God our source and not anything else in everything. When we try to make someone else our source or something else our source we place on them or on the things requirements that cannot be filled by them. God created us to be fulfilled exclusively by Him and nothing else.

Here in Colossians Paul is saying that we are complete in Christ Jesus. In John 15 Jesus says that He is the vine and we are the branches. We draw our life from Him because He is the only one with life. Our connection through Him is with the Father.

That God is most glorified in us when we are most satisfied in Him. John Piper, Desiring God.

Our hearts cry out to be satisfied and fulfilled. We seek to be satisfied and fulfilled with money, our joy, other people, marriage, children, partying, pets, fame, power, drugs, affirmation from people, even church, or trying to help people … all of these leave us empty and dry because only God can satisfy our souls.

Jesus opened the door to unhindered audience with the Father. It is simple to come to Him. He welcomes us gladly as we come in faith.
