Desire To See Us Through

Devotions:
“looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.” Hebrews 12:2 KJV
Jesus endured horrible torture and death. He took on Himself the sins of the whole world which was worse than the Roman torture. Here Jesus shows us how to successfully face the challenges of life. What will see us through is a desire stronger than the pain of the challenge. That desire is built on our focusing on the benefit that we receive after we have successfully completed the challenge. Jesus focused on the joy of restoring us, in right standing, to the Father, to Himself and to the Holy Spirit. This was restoring the creation which had been stolen by Satan back to the original creator.
When we have a challenge we need to focus on the expectation of positive benefits that come from completing the challenge. The more we focus on the positive outcome, the more desire we will have to see the challenge through without giving up.
One challenge is spending quality time with God or reading the Bible. If we will right down all the benefits that we will receive from spending time with God and reading the Bible and read those benefits throughout the day we will build a desire that will not be denied. If we focus on the inconvenience or any other perceived negative then we will avoid spending time with God and reading the Bible.
This is true in any realm, physical, school, emotional, spiritual. We will endure because of expiation of positive benefit that we will gain in the end.
