Magnify God Not Your Problem

Devotions:
What we focus on is what we grow towards. When we have a negative view of life and that is what we focus on then things get worse. We are not to shut our eyes to the bad things that go on around us but we are not to focus on them.
“I will bless the LORD at all times: His praise shall continually be in my mouth. My soul shall make her boast in the LORD: The humble shall hear thereof, and be glad. O magnify the LORD with me, And let us exalt his name together.” Psalm 34:1-3 KJV
The Psalmist here tells us to magnify the LORD with him. God cannot get any larger but He can get larger in our hearts. As we focus on the LORD and His greatness and goodness then the goodness and greatness of God start to dominate our thinking.
The Israelites coming out of Egypt led by Moses, focused on their discomfort and problems instead on their God who had just delivered them. So when they came to the promise land and the spies returned with an evil report most of the people believed the bad report. They were looking at their own ability instead of God’s ability. They ended up dying in the wilderness because of their unbelief. What they had chosen to focus on had limited their faith in God. All they had spoken for the two years was griping and complaining. They had focused on the trials instead of on God’s provision.
Do not.magnify your problems but magnify your God who wants to deliver you.
