“Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth.” Mark 9:23 KJV
Many Christians walk around in failure and defeat not really knowing why they did not receive what they asked for. Yet Jesus said that all things were possible to him who believes. We do not want to blame God so we throw up our hands saying God’s ways are beyond finding out, beyond our comprehension. The real issue is the smallness of our faith. We are robbed by our doubts and unbelief. We really are not sure that God loves us. We act like He just tolerates us or puts up with us. We do not see ourselves as God’s favorite sons or daughters. We are waiting on Him to act on our behalf instead of acting like we be ie ethat we have received what we asked for. Of course what we ask for has to be in line with His will, His word but if it revealed in His word it is ours. If it is His will, it is covered by our covenant with Him through Jesus and it belongs to us. He does not choose to bless some and not others. His blessing is for all who will believe. He loves everyone. The issue then is do we have the faith to receive His love. Everyone who hears the gospel a measure of faith when they believe, then we are to grow in faith.
“We are bound to thank God always for you, brethren, as it is meet, because that your faith groweth exceedingly, and the charity of every one of you all toward each other abounds,” 2 Thessalonians 1:3 KJV
So the answer as to why we do not receive of the promises of God is because we do not believe.
“So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.”
Romans 10:17 KJV
When we feed our faith on God’s word and act on it, it grows and we become more and more confident of His radical love for us.
