Our Fight

“But thou, O man of God, flee these things; and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness. Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses.” ‭1 Timothy‬ ‭6:11-12‬ ‭KJV‬‬

We have a fight in this life. This fight first takes place in our imagination and our mind. Paul says to flee the love of money which is the root of all evil and instead to put on righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness. We spend time meditating on these truths until they are secure in our hearts. This is the reality in which we are to walk. We must be diligent with this information because the enemy will try to convince us that it is not true. When it seems that we have won the fight and start to relax, the enemy will return. This is what happened to Jesus.

“And when the devil had ended all the temptation, he departed from him for a season.”

‭‭Luke‬ ‭4:13‬ ‭KJV‬‬

We already have the victory, so the fight is to stay in that place of victory. Jesus used the word of God to overcome the enemy. The word of God is our key to our success over the enemy.

“For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh: (for the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;) casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;”

‭‭2 Corinthians‬ ‭10:3-5‬ ‭KJV‬‬“But thou, O man of God, flee these things; and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness.
