The Goodness Of God

Devotions:
“grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord, according as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue: whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.” 2 Peter 1:2-4 KJV
Jesus is our righteousness. That means that through Jesus we have a perfect standing with God our Father. This fact needs to sink down deep into our hearts until it is an unshakable reality that rules our life, our thoughts and our actions. It will revolutionize our prayer life. We will see ourselves as sons of God and not as orphans that are ever afraid of displeasing our Heavenly Father and be rejected. Our Christian life then will be a treasure hunt seeking to know the great, wonderful things that our loving Heavenly Father has done for us. All this comes from knowing Him and spending time with Him. Our own opinions blind us to the indescribable goodness of God towards us and in us. We should always be walking in wonderment, amazed at how much He loves us. Instead of looking and expecting bad things to happen to us, we should be looking around each corner to see the good that is coming our way. When bad things do happen, and they will, we should take it to our Father in prayer and watch Him turn it into a blessing for us.
“And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.” Romans 8:28 KJV
