Being Transformed

Devotions:

          “For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek. For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.” ‭Romans‬ ‭1:16-17‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Our salvation is complete when our bodies are make like unto Chirst’s body.

“For our conversation is in heaven; from whence also we look for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ: who shall change our vile body, that it may be fashioned like unto his glorious body, according to the working whereby he is able even to subdue all things unto himself.” ‭Philippians‬ ‭3:20-21‬ ‭KJV‬‬

While we are on the earth we are to be in a process of our souls being transformed into agreement with out spirit which was made Christ. Paul says here that it is not our own strength that we are able to do this but the word of God that will transform us into His image in our souls. We need to recognize the power in the word of God to bring about the desired results, the transformation of our souls. God told Joshua to meditate the law of God day and night. Even though he was not born again with a new nature, he still had the nature of sin, the word of God would still affect Him to think like God, speak like God and act like God. This would be imperfect without the change in nature.

We have had our nature changed in the new birth but we still need to reprogram our mind with the word of God. The Holy Spirit does this as we submit ourselves to the word through meditation daily in the word like Joshua did.
