Holy Unto the Lord

Devotions:
“Neither shall ye profane my holy name; but I will be hallowed among the children of Israel: I am the Lord which hallow you, That brought you out of the land of Egypt, to be your God: I am the Lord.” Leviticus 22:32-33 KJV
Here we find the two opposite, holy and profane, that is to make common or general. To be holy or make holy is to set apart for a special use or to make special. God is saying that He is not common or usual but that He is special, He is holy and will not associate with anything that is common. God did not make us to be common or everyday but special. As we treat Him and everything about Him as special, to be treasured above all else, to be honored above all and reverenced because He is God. He is the creator of the universe so we do not take His word in vain nor His word do we treat lightly. His word is the word of THE KING. As we honor Him and reverence Him, He sets us apart as His special treasure, as a people called out for His name to receive His blessings. He said that as we hallow Him, sanctify Him, treat Him as holy and special, He will hollow us, sanctify us and treat us as holy and special.
If we put God's voice on the same level as we do any other voice then we are treating Him as common, and profane. If we treat His word on the same level as any other written word then we are treating it as profane and common and then He cannot treat us as special, as His treasure and special people. He wants to be our God and to have us walk in His blessing but He cannot do that if we do not hallow Him and treat Him as He is the creator of the universe.
