Our Prayers
Devotions:
The fate of the world lies in our hands as Christians. We have the authority to stop the mad enemy who wants to destroy the world using unbelieving people. We cannot manipulate people but we can take authority over the demons that manipulate and drive people to do ungodly things. It is the church of the Lord Jesus Christ that operates in that authority on the earth in conjunction with the Holy Spirit. We receive direction and orders from Him and when we act on what He shows us to do, He backs it up with His power. If we do nothing then the enemy gains the upper hand even though he is already defeated. His defeat was when Jesus removed the leverage that he had against us. That leverage was our sin that Satan could take to the court of heaven and get a judgement against us. Now Jesus has taken our place so there is no more leverage.
We then stand in the court of heaven and plead for mercy for the ungodly and the unrighteous. We are the ones to take authority over the demonic forces active on the earth that are here to subdue and destroy mankind. These evil forces are operating in our countries only as much as the body of Christ allows them. But if the church is asleep, Satan has free reign over the lives and affairs of men. Your prayers are important and powerful.
“And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power, Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places, Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come: And hath put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the church, Which is his body, the fulness of him that filleth all in all.” Ephesians 1:19-23 KJV
“Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.” James 5:16 KJV
