The Defeated

Devotions:

“In him also you were circumcised with a circumcision made without hands, by putting off the body of the flesh, by the circumcision of Christ, having been buried with him in baptism, in which you were also raised with him through faith in the powerful working of God, who raised him from the dead. And you, who were dead in your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh, God made alive together with him, having forgiven us all our trespasses, by canceling the record of debt that stood against us with its legal demands. This he set aside, nailing it to the cross. He disarmed the rulers and authorities and put them to open shame, by triumphing over them in him.” Colossians‬ ‭2:11-15‬ ‭ESV‬‬

The circumcision which is the baptism in which we were buried with Him is the new birth.  Our spirits actually died with Christ, were buried with Him and rose again when we received what He did in dying for our sins even though He was totally innocent. All of our offenses were nailed to the cross when they nailed Jesus to the cross.  When Jesus was raised from the dead by the power of God, God raised us up with Him to newness of life.  In this new life we stand sinless and spotless before God even as Jesus does.  In Jesus, God forgave all our sins.  God cancelled out our record of debt.  There is not a record in heaven of all your misdoings with stamped on it "Paid In Full".  God has no record of your sins because they were laid to Jesus' account totally.  God has no record of any of our sins and that is enforced when we receive Jesus.  The world is convicted of the sin of not receiving Jesus, the sin bearer. In doing this Jesus totally defeated Satan and disarmed all of Satan's accomplises, all the demons under him.

Jesus triumphed over the enemy and totally disarmed him and put him to shame. Do not accept their lie that they have any power over you, they are defeated!
