Freedom From Sin

Devotions:

“Pure and undefiled religion in the sight of our God and Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their distress, and to keep oneself unstained by the world." ‭‭James‬ ‭1:27‬ ‭NASB‬‬

“She will bear a Son; and you shall call His name Jesus, for He will save His people from their sins."” ‭Matthew‬ ‭1:21‬ ‭NASB‬‬

“We know that we are of God, and that the whole world lies in the power of the evil one.”

‭‭1 John‬ ‭5:19‬ ‭NASB‬‬

The evil one's whole purpose is to destroy us.  We are not to be ignorant of His devices. If we involve in sin which are the ways of the evil one then we are open to be destroyed by him.  Jesus came to set us free from that which would destroy us, sin.  Many do not believe this and think that a little sin on the side (so to speak) is alright and unnoticed.  But sin was designed by Satan to destroy you and a little sin will eventually destroy you.  Just because it seems that we get away with sin does not mean that we will get away with it. God's mercy is present to delay the conquences of sin to allow us time to repent, confess and denounce the sin. To repent is to turn from it in our thinking.  This can only come through the word becoming flesh within us and dwelling in us.  This happens as we meditate on the word until we receive the revelation by the Holy Spirit.  We live in this world but we are not of this world, we are of the kingdom of God.  We are then to walk like sons of the kingdom and not as sons of this world. We are to walk in our freedom and set the captives free from the destructive bondage of sin.

Did Jesus save His people from their sins? Jesus died to save the whole world but the world will not walk in the reality of that unless they hear and believe the good news.  The same goes with our freedom from sin, sickness and disease, poverty.  It is ours but we must know and walk in it by faith.

Do not mess with the world, it is poisoned.
