Devotions:
“"FOR THIS IS THE COVENANT THAT I WILL MAKE WITH THE HOUSE OF ISRAEL AFTER THOSE DAYS, SAYS THE LORD: I WILL PUT MY LAWS INTO THEIR MINDS, AND I WILL WRITE THEM ON THEIR HEARTS. A ND I WILL BE THEIR GOD, A ND THEY SHALL BE MY PEOPLE.” Hebrews 8:10 NASB
“I delight to do Your will, O my God; Your Law is within my heart."”
Psalms 40:8 NASB
In the New Covenant, the one sealed by Jesus' death, burial and resurrection that becomes ours at the new birth, God said that He wrote His laws on our hearts and on our mind. So the cry of our hearts is, "I delight to do Your will, O God..." Many times our flesh is so noisy and our minds are so noisy that we do not hear the cry of our own heart. If we get quiet before God we find that cry coming from our innermost being. Not only is that cry there but also the power to fulfill that cry.
Our flesh will cry out, satisfy me. Our heart will respond, you can only be satisfied in God. Our emotions cry out, I am hurting, and our spirit cries out your healing is in God who loves you. Only in God is my satisfaction. Only in God is my healing for my soul and body. God's will is our satisfaction, our healing our wholeness. His law is the way of life and the one who kept the law perfectly is the one who dwells in you and wants to live through you if you will yield to Him daily. In our weakness, His strength is displayed if we will turn to Him in our weakness and believe in His life in us.
