God Our Goodness
Devotions:
“Nevertheless I am continually with thee: thou hast holden me by my right hand. Thou shalt guide me with thy counsel, and afterward receive me to glory. Whom have I in heaven but thee? and there is none upon earth that I desire beside thee. My flesh and my heart faileth: but God is the strength of my heart, and my portion for ever. For, lo, they that are far from thee shall perish: thou hast destroyed all them that go a whoring from thee. But it is good for me to draw near to God: I have put my trust in the Lord God, that I may declare all thy works.” Psalms 73:23-28 KJV
Only God is good so all of our goodness comes only from Him. Our God is for us and desires to bless us. As we cultivate the awareness of the presence of the Lord in our lives and our total dependence upon Him then we walk in His help and blessings towards us. The enemy wants to steal our awareness of His presence that in reality has always been with us even before we knew Him. As we then walk with Him we become aware of His presence with us in our past even in the hard places where the enemy tried to kill us but was unsuccessful.
As I walk with God I come to realize that all of my goodness comes from Him. So the more I walk with Him the more I desire to walk with Him. When I turn away from Him I turn away from all goodness and blessings. True treasure is our relationship with the Lord and that He has opened His arms and welcomed us fully into His presence and blessings. Then we know experientially that He is our chief joy and the delight of our hearts. Nothing and no one can compare with the joy and pleasure of His presence. He delights in our blessings.
