Which God do You Serve?

Devotions:

“Oh that my people had hearkened unto me, and Israel had walked in my ways! I should soon have subdued their enemies, and turned my hand against their adversaries. The haters of the Lord should have submitted themselves unto him: but their time should have endured for ever. He should have fed them also with the finest of the wheat: and with honey out of the rock should I have satisfied thee.” ‭Psalms‬ ‭81:13-16‬ ‭KJV‬‬

We receive in our lives either blessings or curses according to the God we serve.  It it is the God of the Bible then we will walk in blessings if it is another god then we will walk in the curse.  If we are not serving Yahweh then we will be serving another god.  We get into trouble not for serving the of our Lord Jesus Christ but for serving our own desires. When Adam chose to follow his own desires and eat of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, he turned from following the Lord God, his creator and bowed his knee to Satan by obeying Satan.  In our lives we are serving some god whether it is demons and Satan or Yahweh. We are never totally independent to exclusively do our own thing.  So when you are disobeying God you are bowing your knee to Satan and he knows no mercy or kindness.

God through the prophet lamented the fact that Israel was not following Him so He was limited in how much He could bless them. They chose to follow the gods of the people around them and they received the results of what those gods, demons, could do for them, which was a curse.

God's desire is to protect us, fight for us, provide all that we need to sustain us and to bless us with good things.
