Honoring God

December 24, 2016

Devotions:

When you do not honor what God did for us in Christ Jesus for our salvation but think that it is incomplete unless you add something to it then you will be denying the fruit of God's work for you.  When we think that when we sin we will go to hell because we did not repent then we are not honoring what God did for us in the new birth.  It is Christ in us the hope of Glory not Christ in us plus our repentance. There is a place for repentance. As we come into the presence of the Lord, He shows us the places in our lives that are inconsistent with His nature in us and we repent.  But if we do not repent, we do lose our salvation.  God continues to work with us to transform our souls.  Our spirit is already just like Him. As we focus on what He has done for us by making us new creations in Christ Jesus and respond with praise and thanksgiving we are then transformed in our souls as well.  Our going to heaven is a matter of who we are. Our actions is a matter of who we perceive ourselves to be.  If we think that we are just sinners saved by grace then we will act like sinners.  But the Bible tells us that if any man is in Christ, he is a new creation, Old things have passed away and behold all things have become new. 2 Corinthians 5:17

As we then meditate on who God has made us until we believe it then we will act in accordance with who we are.  As we honor God's word in our lives by becoming doers of the word, believing who God says that we are and acting on that by walking constantly in fellowship with our Heavenly Father then we are transformed by His grace.
