Jesus is Emmanuel

Devotions:
“And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins. Now all this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying, Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.”
Matthew 1:21-23 KJV
Our salvation is not of ourselves but of God. Jesus was named Jesus which means "Yeshua saves". We were lost and without any means of helping ourselves because we did not just sin but we were sinners. In Christ Jesus we were made new creations endued with the righteousness of God our Father.
It was always interesting that the passage from Isaiah is given for the fulfillment of His name. But it is true, our salvation is the presence of God with us in a relationship that is totally in accord with His nature. We were made the righteousness of God in Chirst. We have the access to our Father and we need to cultivate His manifest presence in our lives. It is His presence that transforms us and sets us free from the snares, traps and bandages of Satan. It is His presence upon us that sets the captives tree around us and opens their eyes to the truth. God is with us and upon us and surrounds us and saturates us. We focus on His presence because it is His presence, the anointing, that does the work of God on the earth. Men and women were made to be containers of that anointing. What a great privilege. It is by that anointing that we are healed and that we heal others. It is by that anointing that we begin to restore the kingdom of this earth to the domain of the King and bring the subjects, men and women, into wholeness that they were created for. God is for us, God is with us and God is within us as believers. Go now and set the captives free in the name of Jesus.
