Wisdom for Life

Devotions:

“There is a way that seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.”

‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭16:25‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Adam and Eve tried to choose to live life on their own and all they got was a curse. When we try to live by our own wits and devices we end up in trouble.  Humans are not smart enough by ourselves to walk in the way that produces life. That is why Jesus came, to restore us with our creator God, our Father.  He is all wisdom and when we need wisdom and ask Him He freely gives it.

“If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.” James‬ ‭1:5‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Wisdom is the understanding on how to live life successfully in every realm. By wisdom we walk in health. By wisdom we gather wealth. By wisdom we have successful relationships.  Wisdom answers every area of life.  God is the source of wisdom.

“The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom: a good understanding have all they that do his commandments: his praise endureth for ever.” ‭Psalms‬ ‭111:10‬ ‭KJV‬‬

This is not a fear of judgement or punishment or displeasure but honoring the Lord, holding Him in highest esteem and of greatest value.  When we realize that the Lord is so awesome and we have the privilege to be in a realtion with Him through the Lord Jesus Christ we need to value that relationship for what it is worth.  To us it should by greater than someone giving us all the riches of the world. This is one of the temptations that Satan tried to seduce Jesus with when he showed Him all the nations of the world and the glory there of and said that all of these were given to me and I can give them to whoever I wish. I will give them to you if you will bow down and worship me. Jesus treasured His relationship with Father above everything. He replied, "It is written, you shall worship the Lord your God and serve Him only." This was the temptation cause Adam and Eve to fall.  When we realize that our total reliance upon the Lord is to our benefit then we will seek that in every area of our lives.
