Devotions:
“Jesus answered and said unto them, Verily I say unto you, If ye have faith, and doubt not, ye shall not only do this which is done to the fig tree, but also if ye shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; it shall be done.” Matthew 21:21 KJV
Jesus said that if we believe and doubt not then the impossible would happen for us. When we realize that we do not have enough faith to move the mountain in our lives, whatever mountain that is in our way, we try to bolster up our faith by our will power and try harder. If we could move a mountain by faith then we could do almost anything by faith. Jesus said in Mark 9:23 that nothing is impossible to those that believe. So why are we, the body of Christ continually walking in defeat and then redefining our concept of God based on our defeat when He promised us victory? According to Jesus it is a lack of faith.
When our faith is not working it is one of two reasons. One is that we do not really have the faith that we think we do. I am not saying that we do not have faith. Everyone born again has faith. But that faith has to be developed in all the areas that concern our lives. How do you develop that faith? By spending time in the word of God in the area that pertains to your mountain. If you need healing then spend time meditating on healing scriptures. If you need finances then spend time meditating on scriptures concerning God's provision.
Secondly, we are applying our faith to the wrong area of the problem. We need to pray and ask God how and where to apply our faith. You cannot caste out flesh and you cannot crucify a demon. If you give time praying about the situation and maybe even fasting a little seeking the presence of God for the answer, He will give you the solution.
