Devotions:

“In whose eyes a vile person is contemned; but he honoureth them that fear the Lord. He that sweareth to his own hurt, and changeth not.” Psalms‬ ‭15:4‬ ‭KJV‬‬

We see people as we are.  We even view God this way many times.  As believers, if we lie we also expect others to lie and even God.  This hinders our faith because faith is released in our words.  Mark 11:23 says that if we speak to the monutain of our life and not doubt in our heart but believe that wha we say will come to pass, we will have what we say.  We cannot lie with our words and be truthful the next minute and expect to believe in our words when we are telling the truth because we did not believe in our own words when we were lying.  That is why we must guard our outs.  when we say something or make a commitment we must with all our strength fulfill our commitment.  If we do not mean it, do not say it.  Saying what we do not mean even if it is just to get someone off our back will do damage to our faith. Even little white lies will do damage to your faith.

The Psalms says that a spiritual man is one who swears to his own hurt and does not change. If you want to walk in faith then keep your word so that when you speak to your mountain you can have confidence that your words will be effective.
