Pulling Down Strongholds
November 4, 2017
Devotions:
“(For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;) Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;” 2 Corinthians 10:4-5 KJV
Even the strongholds cannot hold us in bondage. Many think that strongholds are demons holding cities and regions in captivity. but here Paul says that strongholds are in the mind of the human. That is if you do not deal with evil thoughts they become imaginations and if the imaginations are not dealt with they become strongholds that hold people in bondage through their minds.
Our weapons are the word of God, which is truth and when meditated upon produces freedom in us because it testifies of the freedom which we have in Chirst. As we stand on the word of God we are to take the word and spend time reading it and thinking about it. We do not try to make it work with our own strength but meditate on it, speak it and act like it is true. We also have the name of Jesus which is above every name and every knee has to bow to that name. We have the right to use that name against all of our enemies.
True freedom in all three of these areas comes from believing and acting on the word of God. Be a doer of the word and not a hearer only.
