Holiness

Devotions:

We struggle, cry, sweat, repent trying to make ourselves holy and no real transformation takes place. All we do is become frustrated and prideful. All of our efforts seem to be of no avail. God said to be holy as He is holy. Holiness is to be set aside for a special purpose. We are to be set aside exclusively unto God and His glory. So actually our striving to achieve what God said He wanted is counterproductive. If we do it by our own efforts then we get the glory and not God. We steal His glory besides we are ineffective. So how do we display the holiness of God?

First is to believe that we became the holiness of Jesus when we were born again. Jesus is our holiness. We are not trying to get holy, we are holy! But we only walk in this to the degree that we believe it, not just mentally agree with it.

Secondly, we walk in holiness as we spend time under the anointing that is in His manifest presence.

“And there I will meet with the children of Israel; and the Tent shall be sanctified by my glory." ‭‭Exodus‬ ‭29:43‬ ‭ASV‬‬

His manifest glory in our presence will male us holy but we must receive it.

The ark of the covenant was the dwelling place of God. David to bring it to Jerusalem improperly and a man died. So David parked at Obed Edom's house because David was mad at God. But the three months that the Ark, the presence of God, was at Obed Edom's house, he was blessed and prospered. David got envious and found out how to move the Ark correctly. He put it in a tent and started twenty-four hour, seven day a week praise and worship before the Ark.

David knew blessing of the sanctifying power of the presence of God and His glory. We ourselves should practice the presence of the Lord throughout the day by continually focusing on God through our praise and thanksgiving to Him. His presence will cause the dead things in our lives to just drop off.
