Transformation of Our Mind

Devotions:

“Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;”

‭‭Titus‬ ‭3:5‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Our salvation is dependent on two things, the washing of regeneration, or the baptism of the new birth, and the renewing of the Holy Spirit.  Our salvation starts at the new birth when our spirit is made a new creation, it continues with the renewing of our mind and the subsequent transformation and ends with when we receive a new body like unto Jesus. When we receive the first part, the new birth then the last part is insured and there is no way we can effect that short of denying Chirst after we reach a place of maturity. The second part of renewing our mind is not a work on our part but it is by the power of the Holy Spirit as I choose to come in to His presence daily.  That is why in Titus, Paul talks about the renewing of the Holy Ghost.  There is and initial filling of the Holy Ghost, that is the baptism of the Holy Ghost or fire but there should be numerous refillings as we spend time in His presence.

“And I say unto you, Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you. For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened. If a son shall ask bread of any of you that is a father, will he give him a stone? or if he ask a fish, will he for a fish give him a serpent? Or if he shall ask an egg, will he offer him a scorpion? If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him?” ‭Luke‬ ‭11:9-13‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Jesus says that as we ask the Father for the initial baptism and renewing of the Holy Spirit that He being a good Father will grant us that request.  So we have not because we ask not. Ask God daily to be refilled with the Holy Spirit and believe that He is the good Father that will delight in filling us.

“Then he answered and spake unto me, saying, This is the word of the Lord unto Zerubbabel, saying, Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the Lord of hosts.”

‭‭Zechariah‬ ‭4:6‬ ‭KJV‬‬
