Victory In Jesus

Devotions:

“And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins.” ‭Matthew‬ ‭1:21‬ ‭KJV‬

“He that hath no rule over his own spirit is like a city that is broken down, and without walls.” ‭Proverbs‬ ‭25:28‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway.” ‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭9:27‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“Now all these things happened unto them for ensamples: and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come. Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall. There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.”  ‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭10:11-13‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Temptations come to all of us but we must learn to walk in the victory that Jesus has provided for us. Proverbs says that if we do not rule our spirit we will be undefended before the enemy.

In 1 Corinthisans 10 the first 10 verses. Paul gives us the examples of the falling away of Israel while wondering in the wilderness with the warning that we are not to tread in their path.  Jesus came to save us from our sin.  We are not to try to resis the temptation in our own strength but by the power of the greater one within us.  The way of escape is to loose to the one in us who has already defeated the enemy.  Looking unto Jesus!
