Dead Yet Alive

Devotions:

        We have died with Christ when we receive what He did for us on the cross, we are counted on that cross with Him.  God says that the soul that sins shall die. We either die in our sins or we receive Jesus death and die with Him. Then we are raised to newness of life.  This is the secret of a successful Christian life, to know that you are dead and it is no longer you who lives but Christ lives in you. Galatians 2:20. So then we are not looking to the natural life to sustain us but to the life of Christ within us.   

        “But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us.

Always bearing about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our body. For we which live are alway delivered unto death for Jesus' sake, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our mortal flesh.”

        We look to the life of Christ within us to overcome the problems, the temptations, the sickness and disease, in fact all the attacks of the enemy. It is His overcoming life within us that gives us the victory and it is His word that tells us of that overcoming life. 

        Do you see your self as dead and yet alive in Christ? A dead man cannot be tempted by praise nor criticism. He is our all in all.
