Blessed of God

Devotions::

        Israel knew that they were blessed by God and it was guaranteed by a blood covenant.  When the blessing was not evident in their lives they would look to where they had sinned. They expected the blessing and were not expecting good times and bad times. They were blessed by God as  He had promised.

        We have a better covenant based on better promise, Hebrews 8:6, and as God has promised us we have been blessed  by God. But do we expect this blessing at every turn in our lives.  Just based on this when sickness knocks on our door we would reject it because sickness is not a blessing from God it is a curse from the devil. If financial lack should approach us we should not accept it but look to the Lord of the blessing instead.

        God's blessing is His presence. Everything He does is good and in everything He prospers.  He never fails or loses.  When we see that all blessings come form Him and the blessing is His presence then we cultivate His presence for every minute of our lives.  He is with us what we cultivate is our awareness of His presence and our resulting expectation of His blessing.

        “Christ redeemed us from the curse of the Law, having become a curse for us-for it is written, " CURSED IS EVERYONE WHO HANGS ON A TREE "- in order that in Christ Jesus the blessing of Abraham might come to the Gentiles, so that we would receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.”
