Finished Work

Devotions;

        “Then said they unto him, What shall we do, that we might work the works of God? Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent.” ‭John‬ ‭6:28-29‬ ‭KJV‬‬

        “For we which have believed do enter into rest, as he said, As I have sworn in my wrath, if they shall enter into my rest: although the works were finished from the foundation of the world. For he spake in a certain place of the seventh day on this wise, And God did rest the seventh day from all his works.

For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from his.” ‭Hebrews‬ ‭4:3-4, 10‬ ‭KJV‬‬

        To believe on whom God sent is to believe in the finished work of Jesus in His death, burial,  resurrection, ascension, and seating at the right hand of the Father. That means that you enter into rest concerning your salvation.  You cease from laboring to be saved and accept God's total salvation.  All of the work of God comes out of this finished work. We cannot add to nor take away from this salvation.

        God finished His work from the foundation of the world. Satan's trickery and seduction of Adam and Eve did not change this finished work.  Jesus is the lamb sain from the foundation of the world. So in God's mind our salvation was completed from the beginning. God just ask that we accept what He has done and not try to add anything to it.

        Satan called into question the identity of Adam and Eve and they fell for the lie. Satan tried to call into question the identity of Jesus as the beloved Son of God but Jesus passed the test.  Satan continually tries to call into question our identity as Sons of God which is calling into question the finished work of Jesus. Do not buy it. By the blood of Jesus you are a Son of the Most High God. As you believe on Jesus and what He has done for us in making us sons then act like it.
