Devotions:

“Howbeit Jesus suffered him not, but saith unto him, Go home to thy friends, and tell them how great things the Lord hath done for thee, and hath had compassion on thee. And he departed, and began to publish in Decapolis how great things Jesus had done for him: and all men did marvel.”

‭‭Mark‬ ‭5:19-20‬ ‭KJV‬‬

This is the story of the man who was possessed by a legion of demons.  Jesus cast them out into the swine. When the people came and found out they told Jesus to leave.  The man wanted to go with Jesus but Jesus told him to return to his own people and testify of the works of the Lord and His compassion on him.  As he did that it showed forth the glory of the Lord.  This is what God ask of us. First is to have an encounter with the Lord. The demonic knew that Jesus had the power and the will to set him free.  When he saw Jesus he ran up and worshipped Him.  We must take time to truly worship the Lord knowing that He as the power and the will to set us free.  As we encounter Jesus we make out request know to Him.  Then freely go to our acquaintances and tell them what great things God had done for us.  We are to tell believers, unbelievers, people of other religions and cults what great things God has done for us.

Jesus is the same yesterday, today and forever so what He did in the Bible He will do for us. Do we believe that? Are we expecting the same results or are we just hoping God will do something for us?  Our greatest tool that we have is our testimony of the great things that God does for us as we stand on His word.  Build a life of testimonies of God's dealings in your life.
