God's Mighty Acts
April 23, 2017
Devotions:
“One generation shall praise Your works to another, And shall declare Your mighty acts. On the glorious splendor of Your majesty And on Your wonderful works, I will meditate. Men shall speak of the power of Your awesome acts, And I will tell of Your greatness. They shall eagerly utter the memory of Your abundant goodness And will shout joyfully of Your righteousness. The LORD is gracious and merciful; Slow to anger and great in lovingkindness. The LORD is good to all, And His mercies are over all His works.”. Psalms 145:4-9 NASB
Our God is the only good in the universe. When we look away from Him we look at the curse. 1 John says that we know that the whole world lies in the power of the evil one. The evil one has already been judged so why do we want to walk with him? Why do we want to engage in behavior that is under a curse?
God wants us to demonstrate and declare His goodness and His mighty acts to the universe. As we spend time meditating on Gods mighty acts from His word and from what others have experienced we will see His goodness in the land of the living! We are to prove by our own lives that the Lord is good to all and His mercies are over all His works. We are not to just try to see if it is so but as we spend time meditating on His goodness and lovingkindness our faith soars to the point that we are totally confident that He will do it again and we live a life in praise of His mighty deeds and in expectation of God being active in our lives as we believe Him and act accordingly.
