Warfare With the Sword

Devotions:

        We have been looking at spiritual warfare.  One of the weapons that we have that is mighty to the pulling down of strongholds is the name of Jesus.  Secondly we see that the word of God is a weapon that Jesus used and we must use also.

        Many Christians are battling depression. How can we fight depression? First there is no condemnation from God for being depressed. 

        “By this, love is perfected with us, so that we may have confidence in the day of judgment; because as He is, so also are we in this world.” 1 John‬ ‭4:17‬ ‭NASB‬‬

        We see from this scripture that we are just like Jesus is.  This is who we are in our spirit man who is the real you.

          “"YOU HAVE LOVED RIGHTEOUSNESS AND HATED LAWLESSNESS; THEREFORE GOD, YOUR GOD, HAS ANOINTED YOU W ITH THE OIL OF GLADNESS ABOVE YOUR COMPANIONS."” ‭Hebrews‬ ‭1:9‬ ‭NASB‬‬

        “You have loved righteousness [You have delighted in integrity, virtue, and uprightness in purpose, thought, and action] and You have hated lawlessness (injustice and iniquity). Therefore God, [even] Your God (Godhead), has anointed You with the oil of exultant joy and gladness above and beyond Your companions. [Ps. 45:6, 7.]” ‭Hebrews‬ ‭1:9‬ ‭AMPC‬‬

        Jesus is the same now as He was then.  He is then anointed with the oil of gladness more than anyone else.  This is who we are but we must recognize Jesus' stance and make the same ourselves.  He loved righteousness.  Do we love all righteousness? Or do we compromise on what we consider small sins?  Secondly He hated wickedness, iniquity, injustice and lawlessness.  Check yourself and see it this is your attitude in what you watch on TV or at the movies or what you choose to listen to in your music or what you allow yourself to listen to in conversations. What do you think on, that which is a blessing to others or are you holding unforgiveness and resentment?  Are you walking in the Kingdom of God?

        “For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost.” ‭Romans‬ ‭14:17‬ ‭KJV‬‬

        Speak these scriptures about yourself constantly and act on them.  I love righteousness and hate lawlessness and iniquity therefore my God has anointed me with the oil of gladness above my fellows.  I am in the Kingdom of God so I am full of righteousness, peace and joy.  Depression therefore has no place in me.  Do these confessions until you are living in the reality of them.
