Obedience

Devotions:

“At that day ye shall know that I am in my Father, and ye in me, and I in you. He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him. Judas saith unto him, not Iscariot, Lord, how is it that thou wilt manifest thyself unto us, and not unto the world? Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him. He that loveth me not keepeth not my sayings: and the word which ye hear is not mine, but the Father's which sent me.” ‭John‬ ‭14:20-24‬ ‭KJV‬‬

We must realize the importance of obedience. Jesus said that if we would walk in obedience to Him that He would manifest Himself to us.  Our life is not in ourselves but it is in God.  Our success is not in ourselves but it is in God.  Our obedience is not in ourselves but in the life that He gave us at the new birth.  We must make a decision to walk in that life.  We made a decision to receive His free gift of salvation and were born again we must also understand that our Lord God is the wisdom of the universe and the wisdom of our lives.  So walking in obedience to Him is walking in the wisdom of the universe, the wisdom that makes the accumulated wisdom of man look like foolishness.

We walk in obedience out of our love for Himl. Our love for Him is created in our understanding of His love for us.  The more revelation we have of what it took for Jesus to go to the cross for us and how much we did not ask nor want salvation we begin to understand God's love for us.  The more time we spend in His presence the more we experience His love and comprehend His love.  When we are not keeping His word we need to ask the Father where we are not understanding His love for us.  This should not be a superficial asking but an asking that will not give up until it has an answer.  Meditate on John 3:14-17
